An Update from the Elders & Board

As you know, Pastor Steve passed away on June 29, and as a church and as

individuals, we continue to grieve the loss of our pastor and our friend.

Now we are aware that you may be anxious about the future of our church, what are the

next steps, and who will become our new pastor.

First of all, the leadership of the church is working on interim measures, and continue to

work with the PAOC leadership to provide possible alternatives. We all know that our

church is in good hands.

As a result of the generosity and kindness, we do have a solution to our temporary

situation, with Pastor Darren Godfrey stepping in to provide guidance and leadership to

the church, and will be the pastor of BFC during this interim time period.

As we outlined last week, the most plausible alternatives, involves the shifting of our

service times, away from our typical Sunday Morning 10am service. This is to

accommodate Pastor Darren, as he's pastoring full time in a church in Port Perry. We

want to thank Pastor Darren for his gratitude and his heart of wanting to help and give

during this time.

This transition will take place in just a few short weeks. You will be seeing social media

updates (Facebook and other updates) that reflect this same message, so please stay

tuned with us on social media, and our BFC.life page.

So starting in August, on August 4th BFC services will shift to 4pm.

In addition, the Board and Elders will soon appoint members to the Pastoral Search

Committee, to fill the permanent position of pastor at Bayview Family Church. We ask

that you support them with your confidence and prayers.

As we begin this transition process the Board and Elders ask commitments of each of

you to enter into times of fasting and prayer during the process.

God bless you as we blend our hearts in unity.

An Update

As you know, Pastor Steve passed away on June 29, and as a church and as

individuals, we continue to grieve the loss of our pastor and our friend. As a church, we

want to continue to offer an opportunity for anyone who would like to come together to

pray, or talk with others as we struggle thru our grief.

Now we are aware that you may be anxious about the future of our church, what are the

next steps, and what leadership decisions we will need to make in the coming days..

First of all, the leadership of the church is working on interim measures, and continue to

work with the PAOC leadership to provide possible alternatives. We all know that our

church is in good hands.

One of the most plausible alternatives, involves the shifting of our service times, away

from our typical Sunday Morning 10am service, and looking at shifting the service to a

Sunday afternoon or evening service. This would be to allow time for potential speakers to travel from their

respective churches to ours. This has not yet been finalized, and the details of

exactly how or when that will occur, but we wanted the congregation to be kept in

constant communication of any upcoming transition updates.

The Board and Elders will soon appoint members to the Pastoral Search Committee, to

fill the permanent position of pastor at Bayview Family Church. We ask that you support

them with your confidence and prayers.

As we begin this transition process the Board and Elders ask commitments of each of

you to enter into times of fasting and prayer during the process.

God bless you as we blend our hearts in unity during these challenging days.

Community Clean-Up
neighbourhood cleanup.png

We have the opportunity as a church to connect with our immediate neighbours by participating in a 2 hour community cleanup happening this Saturday from 1:00-3:00. You might not live close to the church, therefore feeling that this doesn't apply to you but OUR CHURCH is in the heart of the York Mills Garden community and we want to build relationships in order to be a greater resource to our community. If picking up some garbage that we didn't put there paves a way to share GOOD NEWS than it is worth it.

BAYVIEW FAMILY CHURCH "SUMMER CAMP" - Aug 19-25, 2018

BFC "Summer Camp" has been providing the best summer highlights for both kids and teenagers, for over 40 years now, and this will be the best week of your kids summer!

We continue to have the passionate belief that kids and teenagers matter to God, and it is our opportunity to serve your families with a great week of camp.

Held on Skeleton Lake, Camp Kwasind provides a naturally beautiful and safe camp setting to enjoy.  Our "Summer Camp" offers a dynamic week of activities like sports, swimming, canoeing, arts & crafts, skits, bible studies, bonfires and much more all in the heart of Muskoka.  Our team of dedicated counsellors and leaders come with vast experience to conduct the program with age groups in mind.  Registered nurses and certified Lifeguards are always on duty for the campers health and safety, and the food is catered on a daily basis to ensure all campers receive tasty, nutritious meals.  A tuck shop is also available for snacks and treats to round off the true camp experience.

There now are three different payment options for camper payments, either by cheque, E-transfer, and NEW is the online payment (using your credit card).  Details can be found on the camp website.

Camper registration and all the details for our overnight summer camp is online, available at the Camp page.

We always are looking for volunteers to come and help during the week of camp, so we ask that you prayerfully consider coming to serve in that capacity. Volunteer Counsellor Applications are due on July 1st, and also are available online .
